The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are academic standards. Each standard is a concise statement about what students can do by the end of each grade level. These standards guide math and ELA curriculum kindergarten through 12th grade.
The CCSS were developed in 2009 to unify student learning across the United States. Before 2009 there was no guarantee a student from one school was learning the same content as a student in another school. In 2009, the National Governors Association and the Council Chief State School Officers developed the standards from input from thousands of educators. The Common Core made it easier for teachers across the US to align their curriculum.
Each standard focuses on skills necessary for college and career readiness in the 21st century. You can find the specific standards for each grade level below:

At LoonyLearn we want to prepare your child for academic success. We use the Common Core State Standards as the basis for our curriculum because it is what schools use. When developing our curriculum, we carefully combed through the CCSS. We made our curriculum based on the standards students are held to at school.
Our goal is for your students to enter middle school prepared. To assure students are ready for success after elementary school, we use the Common Core State Standards. These coherent guidelines show us what students should know by sixth grade, so we base our curriculum on them.
For the Common Core State Standards, each grade level has five categories of standards each with subcategories. Our math curriculum has been mapped directly to the CCSS. What this means is we laid out each grade level and their standards. Then we researched how teachers practice the standards with their students. Based on our research we developed questions. For every sub-standard, LoonyLearn has a minimum of twenty questions. With such a large pool of questions for every standard, your child is sure to reach mastery.
You can see our curriculum mapping via the parent/teacher dashboard. Simply log in to your account and go to your dashboard. Next, click on the “Math” tab in the upper left-hand corner, then scroll down to “Assign Math Topics”. The categories in yellow are CCSS categories, and each option in the blue and white boxes are the sub-topics.
